Upload Digital Deliverables on 3DGigs (Maker Guide)
This guide explains how to upload digital deliverables for Makers on 3DGigs, specifically to fulfill 3D Modeling, 3D Scanning, and other non-physical services.
If you’re delivering files (not shipping parts), this is the workflow you’ll use from start to finish.
When This Workflow Applies
You’ll use the digital deliverables workflow when:
-
The project type is Modeling / Scanning (Digital)
-
The final output is a file, not a manufactured part
-
The customer checked out a digital contract order
Examples of digital deliverables include:
-
STL, STEP, IGES, OBJ files
-
ZIP files containing multiple assets
-
PDFs, drawings, or documentation
Step 1: Receive the Order
Once a customer selects your proposal and completes checkout:
-
The order appears in Store Manager → Orders
-
The order is already marked as digital
- You are notified of the new order via email
-
No shipping or tracking is required
This allows you to focus entirely on producing the deliverable.
Step 2: Open the Order in Store Manager
To access the delivery tools:
-
Log in to your Store Manager
-
Go to Orders
-
Open the relevant order
For digital projects, you’ll see a Deliverables section inside the order details.

Step 3: Upload the Digital Deliverables
Inside the Deliverables section:
-
Click Choose File
-
Select your completed deliverable (or ZIP file)
-
Click Upload Deliverable
That’s all you need to do.
There is no separate “mark delivered” step and no order notes are required.
What Happens Automatically After Upload
As soon as you upload a deliverable, 3DGigs handles the rest:
-
✅ The file is securely attached to the order
-
✅ The customer receives a Deliverable Ready email
-
✅ The file appears under My Account → Downloads for the customer
-
✅ The order is marked as Deliverables Submitted
This ensures fast, secure, and trackable delivery without manual follow-ups.
Step 4: Customer Downloads the File
Customers access their deliverables by logging in and visiting:
My Account → Downloads
Revisions & Updated Files
If revisions are required:
-
Upload the updated file using the same Deliverables section
-
The newest file becomes the active download for the customer
-
Previous versions are automatically superseded
For multiple files or versions, we recommend using a single ZIP file.
Best Practices for Makers
To ensure a smooth delivery experience:
-
Use clear file names (example:
ClientName_Project_Final.zip) -
ZIP multiple files into one archive
-
Upload only final or agreed revision deliverables
-
Communicate revisions through the project discussion, not email
What You Don’t Need to Do
For digital projects, Makers do not need to:
-
Add shipping information
-
Enter tracking numbers
-
Mark the order as shipped
-
Send files via email or order notes
Everything is handled through the Deliverables system.
Summary
For digital projects on 3DGigs, fulfillment is simple:
-
Complete the work
-
Upload the deliverable
-
Customer is notified automatically
This workflow is designed to keep digital projects fast, secure, and friction-free for both Makers and customers.
